We missed out on Galway music scene because of stupid camping. blergh. I am not going camping again unless i have a warm body to hug in the darkness and coldness of the night. hahaha..my tahap kecapi-an makin meninggi nowadays tsk tsk tsk. anyways, after we traced the giant's footstep arh Giant's Causeway, we decided to call it a night & stay arh this hostel that we booked earlier call Sheep's castle hostel i think :D it is located on this small town near the Carrick-a-reed tightrope. For dinner and entertainment wise, we decided to venture into the small town and mix with the locals, per say. Felix feeling quite adventurous decided to give the Irish stew a try...it doesn't look as bad as stew soundsl like. Robert as usual go for the platter grill and I ate something seafood. I don't remember it now but I rather eat Spoon's version of it.
These two men set up their instruments, just after we arrived and play a medley of wonderful Irish songs. :) i' m glad...i don't think our trip would be complete without hearing these traditional treasures..and its pretty cool that almost all the locals were singing along..hehe we only sang along to the 'Wild rover' song because its easy to remember..:D
Here's the lyric to 'Wild rover', courtesy of ireland information website:
I've been a wild rover for many a year
And I spent all my money on whiskey and beer,
And now I'm returning with gold in great store
And I never will play the wild rover no more.
chorus: And it's no, nay, never,
No nay never no more,
Will I play the wild rover
No never no more.
I went to an ale-house I used to frequent
And I told the landlady my money was spent.
I asked her for credit, she answered me "nay
Such a custom as yours I could have any day."
chorus
I took from my pocket ten sovereigns bright
And the landlady's eyes opened wide with delight.
She said "I have whiskey and wines of the best
And the words that I spoke sure were only in jest."
chorus
I'll go home to my parents, confess what I've done
And I'll ask them to pardon their prodigal son.
And if they caress (forgive) me as ofttimes before
Sure I never will play the wild rover no more.
chorus
p/s: oh i just decided i want to marry an Irish Fir :p (stupid 'p/s: i love you' tsk tsk tsk)
